Requirements

  1. Availability: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/d/dotconf; available for all architectures

  2. Rationale:

    • This package will be needed in main for speech-dispatcher, which will be replacing gnome-speech for use with gnome-orca.
    • Build dependency of speech-dispatcher, which needs to be moved to main.
  3. Security:

    • CVE entries: There are none at this time.

    • Secunia history: There is none at this time.

    • No daemons, and no binaries running as root or suid root.
    • This package does not deal with network activity.
    • This package does not process structure audio/video/PDF data.
    • A little source code review done, nothing out of the ordinary to report, however not all code reviewed.
  4. Quality assurance:

    • The package should work fine out of the box with no configuration.
    • The package does not ask any debconf questions.
    • Debian bugs: There are currently no bugs listed in Debian's bug tracker.

    • Maintenance in Debian is dead.

    • Upstream is dead.

    • There is no upstream bug tracker.
    • This package does not deal with hardware.
    • There is no test suite in the upstream package.
  5. UI standards:

    • This package has no user visible strings.
    • This package does not have any translatable strings.
    • There are no end-user applications in this package.
  6. Standards compliance:

    • FHS, Debian Policy compliant.

    • Packaging system is debhelper, no patches, no packaging oddities.
  7. Dependencies:

    • debhelper
    • All build and runtime dependencies are in main.
  8. Maintenance:

    • THis package should take care of itself, given that it has been several Ubuntu and Debian releases without an update.
    • The main inclusion report author, Luke Yelavich will be responsible for monitoring this package.
    • There is not currently a package contact in Ubuntu, however the main inclusion report author is willing to be the Ubuntu contact for the package.
  9. Background information:

    • The purpose of the package is clear from the debian/control file.
    • Upstream call this software dotconf, which has been the package's name throughout its lifetime.
  10. Internationalization:

    • There are no graphical applications in this package.
