We are from Tamil Nadu, India. Our Team cuts across barriers and we work together with fellow Tamil speaking citizens of Sri Lanka on translation and technical issues related to Tamil computing. We also have Tamil speaking migrants in US as our members.
I am currently living in Chennai the Capital City of TamilNadu, a State in India. I work for a leading Software Solutions company [http://www.lntinfotech.com L&T Infotech Ltd.,]
Contributions to Ubuntu
Immediate Plans
* Organizing weekly meetup in Chennai enabling Users to share their thoughts on Free Software in Tamil
* Writing Ubuntu Desktop Guide, Kubuntu Desktop Guide, Ubuntu Server Guide and Ubuntu Packaging guide in Tamil based on their respective English Versions.
* Releasing Ubuntu Tamil monthly newsletter starting April 14, 2007 which is new year as per Tamil Calendar.
* Customization of Ubuntu to Tamil. A distro of Ubuntu readily available for download which on installation by default gives all necessary Tamil features.
Long Term Plans
* Providing professional Ubuntu Tamil Support.
* To create suitable infrastructure base that Ubuntu Certifications can be carried out in Tamil Language.
