Summary
I'm a Network Security & Unix/Linux Administrator working for a german Automotive Supplier. I'm using Ubuntu since May 2006 on the Desktop and since December 2007 on the server also. I'm seeking out new News (that no man has read before) to provide them to the german Community. I'm 32 years old and in my life besides Ubuntu I'm married and I have two little kids.

Ubuntu Contribution
Member of Ikhaya-Team , the News-Team of ubuntuusers.de (since may 2007)
Not a contribution to Ubuntu itself, but important to me: Corrections and the monthly Kernel-Review (Kernel-Rückblick) for freiesMagazin , an online magazine that focuses on Linux and Open Source (since august 2007)
- Improving the German Ubuntu Documentation:
reworked: Netzwerkkarten bündeln (Network bonding)
Also tried the same with the Community documentation: MeMaker
Providing Personal Support, if requested; I'm listed on the Regional Contacts Lists in the Ubuntu and ubuntuusers Wikis.
- Providing Installation CD's, sometimes on USB-Flash-Drives, and also personal help with Installation and Basic Configuration
- Doing the usual Bug Reporting or translation whenever I find something that doesn't seem right. Since I'm usually using the development version on my notebook, this happens quite often.
Launching a regular Ubuntu User Meeting in my area (which happened 16th october 2008)
Taking my part in re-launching the UWN-de as a merger between Ikhaya's Wochenrückblick and the UWN (It will be the UWR ), including building the new team and organizing the tools needed.
Doing my share on fixing LP-Bug #1
Vision
Ubuntu is Free Software, which means that everyone has the freedom to use it. Unfortunately, most people don't know about this and so cannot make use of this freedom. In addition, there are plain lies told about Ubuntu and Linux by vendors of proprietary software and others that don't know it better. These scare away people that may otherwise turn their back on commercial software.
Wouldn't it be perfect if everyone knows about the freedom and the possibilities that free software brings?
I'm writing about Free Software and Ubuntu in particular in an effort to fill up this deficit. By showing people how simple Ubuntu is and how much support one may get from the community, I try spread Ubuntu and the idea of Free Software.
