Hi all,
I live in Bristol in the UK, part time poet and part time NHS (National Health Service) manager. Every so often I combine my creative head with my logical head and build the odd website (*adopt learning stance*). I therefore sometimes need to write public documents that are easy to read and understand.
I am not a programmer (though I am starting to learn Ruby - slowly) and I do not have a computing background (I have a masters degree in English). I recently started using Ubuntu and I think it's marvelous - that's the distro itself, the community surrounding it and the ideology of open source software. I really wanted the opportunity to give something back - the best skills I have to offer are writing and editing. I enjoy both and already contribute to Wikipedia and Unclyclopedia. Due to my academic background, I can offer some expertise in grammar, punctuation and vocabulary, so I hope to be able to pick up some pesky typos and errors for you. I note from the style guide that I shall have to keep checking that I am using US not UK spelling! I'm afraid I can't help out with translations unless you feel it's really important to have some documentation in Middle English; If you do, I'm definitely your girl. ;-D
So here I am, joining in December of 2007 - I will now be on the lookout for stuff to help out with in the field of documentation.
