Most of them feel they lack the necessary skills unaware that programming is something that could be learned easily. Most of the users who do know a little bit of programming are still just users because they don't know where to insert themselves. There should be a list with insertion points in the Ubuntu development. Like if you don't know programming but are willing to learn start with Guido van Robot, move to Python and then join the... development team of... some piece of useful software written with python then... with time... move to C/C++ if you want more.
