New Jersey LoCo Team

The New Jersey [wiki:LoCoTeams Local Community Team] has been established in order to advocate and educate Linux users from the entire state of New Jersey (and surrounding states) about Ubuntu Linux and the Ubuntu "way."

How do I join?

If you want to join us follow these steps:

• Subscribe to the mailing list below.

When your application is approved continue with these steps:

• Sign the Ubuntu [http://www.ubuntulinux.org/community/conduct/ Code of Conduct]. We encourage members to do this via Launchpad.

• Add your name and info to the team list

Goals

• Create one main place where users will be able to gather and share information about the distribution.
• Plan organized activities to socialize with the group and promote Ubuntu.

  These events will probably be coordinated closely with LUGs in New Jersey; while LUGs include non-Ubuntu users, many promote Ubuntu heavily, and are interested in working with the LoCo group on events. Events which both groups participate in will be general linux-friendly events, with a focus on the use of Ubuntu. Possible plans:

• Linux LAN Party
• IPOD Liberation party
• Install-fests
