We've rebased the Quantal kernel to upstream v3.4 final and uploaded. This upload collapses the -virtual flavor, reinstates the i386 generic flavor, and transitions the i386 generic-pae flavor to the generic flavor. We've also homogenized the entire linux-meta package and removed the non-smp powerpc meta package as it was made obsolete in Precise. We received a freeze exception this week and uploaded the 3.5.0-17.28
kernel. This most notably contained some critical bug fixes for the
following:
Line 13: Line 22:
We've also got the 12.10 kernel for 12.04 available for testing. It can be installed from the following PPA:  * Bug:1061599 - beagle: omap3: usb is dead
 * Bug:1021471 - clone() hang when creating new network namespace
 * Bug:1030233 -not have bluetooth usb 0489:e046 Foxconn / Hon Hai
 * Bug:717970 - After sleep, key presses get lost and trackpad is jittery

We welcome any early adopters to please install, test, and let us know your feedback.
As usual, we also uploaded this kernel to the
ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/q-lts-backport PPA to facilitate testing of the
12.10 kernel in 12.04. Please test and let us know your results.

We anticipate the upstream v3.5-rc1 kernel to release relatively soon. Being the first rc for the 3.5 series, I'd expect it to be less stable. We would of course appreciate any testing and feedback once it is uploaded and available. Nothing at this time.

What was done engineering wise?

We received a freeze exception this week and uploaded the 3.5.0-17.28 kernel. This most notably contained some critical bug fixes for the following:

  • 1061599 - beagle: omap3: usb is dead

As usual, we also uploaded this kernel to the ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/q-lts-backport PPA to facilitate testing of the 12.10 kernel in 12.04. Please test and let us know your results.
