Welcome to the member page for Craig Adams.

Based in Durban http://www.durban.gov.za/eThekwini/ , South Africa, an avid supporter and promoter of Free http://www.fsf.org/ and Open Source Software http://www.opensource.org/ , with a definite emphasis on the "Free as in Freedom" aspects.

I am also involved in the OpenOffice.org http://www.openoffice.org/ and am the project lead for OpenOffice.org in Southern Africa http://www.openoffice.org.za/ .

I have to admit that I do not currently run Ubuntu as my desktop, but instead use Fedora http://fedora.redhat.com/ , the reason being that the "Official" OpenOffice.org 2.0 Beta builds are only made available for GNU/Linux in RPM format.

I have been promoting Ubuntu since it was first made available, and have distributed approximately 600 copies to date (at the time of writing this page). To a degree, you can call me a meta-distributor of Ubuntu as many of the CD-ROMs I have given out have been to people who distribute them to others.

I have decided to become more "officially" involved in promoting Ubuntu, and will work along with others to build a South African Local Community Team.
